The provincial government is investing about 730 thousand dollars in agriculture-related projects in Northeastern Ontario.
Seven businesses will be sharing in that funding through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.
That includes 200 thousand dollars for Claybelt Drainage in Kapuskasing to guild a maintenance facility for their newly-established tile-drainage installation business.
Another Kapuskasing company is getting 200 thousand to transform a residential home into a cheese factory and retail store.
Another of the investments involves over 110 thousand dollars for Collverbrook Farms in Thessalon to increase it's shelter and storage space for their expanded crop and livestock operation.
Provincial Agriculture Minister Jeff Leal says the projects will help capture the economic opportunity of providing Ontario foods for our growing population here at home and around the world.
