Working To Boost Goat Sector Productivity/Profitability

Ontario Goat is running another series of profitability workshops later this month.

Sessions are scheduled for Belleville, Tavistock and Listowel.

They'll focus on productivity and profitability.

Ontario Goat President Anton Slingerland suggests the industry is moving into the next phase of growth where it's important to have a solid genetic based ot maximize farm profitability.

Artificial insemination will be one of the workshop topics, as well as assessing goat welfare and successful kid rearing.

EastGen and Gay Lea Foods/Hewitt's Dairy Limited are partnering with Ontario Goat for the workshops.

The Belleville session is October 27th - Tavistock October 29th and the Listowel workshop will be on October 30th.
