Charlie Johnstone describes himself as someone with a passion, excitement and history for big events.
He had been running the Honda Indy Toronto.
Now, he's the new CEO of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
Johnstone says he's never seen an event that has the passion and emotional commitment from it's participants like the Royal has.
He sees the agricultural component of the fair being very important to it's future - pointing out a lot of people are clearly coming to the Royal to see the animals as the general population becomes more dis-engaged from the farm.
Johnstone says he'll be a fresh set of eyes watching over this November's event, hopefully asking the kind of questions that will encourage people to thinks about why things are being done in certain ways.
He plans to use that information to help formulate a strategic plan for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair's next 5 to 10 years in Toronto.
