Day 1 Plowing Results From IPM

Paul Dodds of Seaforth has the first day lead in the Ontario Championship tractor plowing competition at this year's IPM.

Seaforth's Steve Haney is 4th and Brian McGavin of Walton 5th after day 1 of the 4 day competition.

That's in the conventional plow category.

The top three in the Ontario Championship's reversible class are Tom Evans from Tiverton, Gerald Corbett of Exeter and MacKenzie Reinhart of Teeswater.

A number of other Midwestern Ontario competitors are off to a good start at the IPM.

Lucas Townsend of Blyth is first, Andrew Young of Cargill second and Natalie Cameron of Owen Sound third in the 2 furrow tractor plowing for contestants 10-15 years old ...

Shawn Ryan of Dashwood is first, Troy Leeming of Seaforth 3rd in the 2 furrow plowing for 16-19 year olds ...

Katie Davenport of Owen Sound is first in the 2 furrow plowing for contestants 20 and over ...

Elmwood's Scott Thomas is second in horse plowing with jointer plows ...

Robert MacRobbie of Mount Forest is second in his horse plowing group ...

And Donald Roi of Shallow Lake and Julie Nellis of Owen Sound are 1st and 3rd in first time sulky plowing with horses ...

The competitions wrap up with the awards presentations Friday night.

The 2015 IPM runs through Saturday in Finch in Eastern Ontario.
