The average prices Canadian farmers got for their products in June were up 4 point 4 per cent from a year ago.
That's the 11th straight year-over-year increase for the Farm Product Price Index - mainly because of higher livestock prices.
Statistics Canada says the June livestock and animal products index was up 5 point 5 per cent on the year.
Hog, dairy and poultry prices were all lower from June of 2014.
On a month-to-month basis, the overall index was down 0 point 1 per cent.
The livestock index was down the same amount while the crops index was virtually unchanged from May to June.
The Ontario numbers were not as good as the national figures.
Statistics Canada reports the provincial index slipped from 134 to 128 point 9 overall on the year.
The Ontario crop index went from 131.6 in June of 2014 to 123 in June of this year while the livestock index went from 138.2 to 135.2.
That works out to a 3.8 per cent drop overall, a 6.5 per cent drop for crops and a 2 point 1 per cent drop for livestock.
