A man born in Huron County is the latest inductee into the Canadian Conservation Hall of Fame.
Doctor David Allen Lobb grew up on a family farm in Huron County.
He's worked in Ontario, the Atlantic Provinces and Manitoba.
The Soil Conservation Council of Canada describes Doctor Allen as internationally recognized for his research in tillage translocation and tillage erosion.
He established the only lab in the world capable of measuring soil translocation by tillage and tillage erosion.
That's at the University of Manitoba.
The Council says Doctor Lobb has also raised the profile of soil to a new generation of students.
Lobb and his wife live in Winnipeg with their two children.
He'll be formally inducted into the Canadian Conservation Hall of Fame in December.
