Fergus-area dairy farmer Ian Harrop has been re-appointed as one of four Dairy Farmers of Canada Vice-Presidents.
Harrop and his wife, Janet, share ownership of Harrcroft Acres near Fergus with Ian's brother, Roger, and his wife, Susan.
They milk a herd of 105 purebred Holsteins.
The other vice-presidents are from Quebec, New Brunswick and Manitoba.
B-C's Wally Smith was re-elected for a third two-year term as Dairy Farmers of Canada President.
He told DFC delegates at their annual meeting that there's a need to remain unified for the industry and supply management.
Smith argues the government must never trade away the sustainable economic driver of unsubsidized supply management to participate in what he calls the unsustainable, uneconomic model of subsidized, deregulated world trade.
