Hog prices were down slightly last week in the U-S.
The University of Missouri's Ron Plain says the negotiated carcass price for plant delivered hogs averaged 73.21 per hundredweight - down 21 cents from the week before.
Plain reports the U-S national average negotiated barrow and gilt price Friday was 72.23 per hundred - down 23 cents from the previous week.
U-S hog slaughter last week was just under 1 point 7 million head.
That's up 1 point 3 per cent from the previous week and up 4 per cent from a year ago.
