U-S Corn Condition Improves Slightly - Soybeans Holding Steady

The condition of the U-S corn crop edged up a point last week.

It's now 69 per cent good to excellent - still 4 points behind this time last year.

The soybean condition remains at 63 per cent good to excellent - 9 points behind last year.

The USDA says the American winter wheat crop is 40 per cent good to excellent - down a point on the week, but 9 points better than last year.

The spring wheat crop is 70 per cent good to excellent - down 2 on the week but the same as it was a year ago.

The department's latest crop progress report says the U-S winter wheat harvest is 55 per cent completed, 4 points behind the 5 year average.

And while the American soybean crop is usually completely planted by this time, the USDA says there is still 4 per cent of that crop yet to go into the ground.
