Lots of talk about wet weather at the most recent Central Ontario Crop Consultant's meeting in Exeter.
They say the biggest field work challenges now are weed control in soybeans, fungicide application in wheat, side-dress nitrogen application in corn and wrapping up edible bean planting.
The consultants report that replanting/over seeding of soybeans is nearly completed in most areas.
Some of the highest percentage of replants in the area were in Waterloo and Wellington counties.
They're expressing concern about the dry bean situation.
Seed supply is very limited for replants - with a lot probably being needed.
That could force growers to reconsider early maturing soybeans - and those seeds are also in limited availability.
And a word of caution for growers harvesting their 2014 corn.
The deadline for reporting those yields is June 30th.
Agricorp can't process the growers 2015 data until the 2014 file is completed.
