A group of medical students saw some things in Bruce County this week they've never seen before.
The half-dozen students were taken on a tour of farms and agribusinesses by members of the Bruce County Federation of Agriculture.
One of the students - Chirag Bhat - says most of the students are from urban areas, with little or no previous exposure to agriculture.
He says it was an amazing and importance experience for them.
Bhat says their professors at the University of Western Ontario tell them that out of a thousand people who prepsent with an illness, only 1 will go to an academic centre like London.
The rest, they're told, will go to rural communities.
UWO medical students are required to spend some time in rural communities as part of their first-year curriculum.

Bhat was impressed by the farm equipment they saw at a local dealership.
