Beef Farmers of Ontario reports 14 thousand 4 hundred and 82 fed cattle have been exported to the U-S so far this year.
That's down about 26 hundred head from 2014 - about 27 hundred fewer than in 2013.
About 41 thousand 500 head of cull cows have been exported to the U-S so far this year.
That's down over 4 thousand from last year and over 10 thousand fewer than were shipped to the U-S from Ontario in 2013.
Fed cattle marketings were down in Ontario last week - both from the previous week and from last year.
The average fed steer price was up 2.62 on the week.
The average fed heifer price was up 2.14.
Both were up almost 44 dollars from a year ago.
The over 17 hundred cull cows sold in Ontario last week was down about 120 on the week and about 430 fewer than last year.
The average price was down 24 cents on the week, over 22 dollars higher than last year.
About 48 hundred replacement cattle were sold in Ontario last week - down about 11 hundred from the previous week - just over 2 thousand fewer than a year ago.
Average prices ranged from up 10.53 to down 6.45 for steers, up 10.67 to down 21.02 for heifers, depending on weight category.

Fed steers traded from $190.43-$202.66 averaging $199.50 up $2.62 from last week and $43.98 stronger than last year at this time. Fed heifers ranged from $185.12-$200.34 averaging $193.35 up $2.14 from last week and $43.91 higher than year ago prices. Auction markets reported active trading at steady prices for majority of this trading period, until the end of the week when prices were reported as $1.00-$2.00 higher. Extra fancy cattle continue to bring a premium with steers reaching $220.50 this week and heifers up to $209.00. Fed steer and heifer exports to the US through Ontario ports as of May 9, 2015 total 14,482 head, which is down 2,650 head from the May 9, 2014 and 2,748 less than the same time in 2013.
Ontario rail grade prices for steers started the week at $328.00-$330.00 dressed and improved to $330.00-$332.00 by Tuesday and held steady the remainder of the week. Heifers started out at $327.00-$329.00 dressed and ended the week at $329.00-$331.00. This week's average prices are up $2.00 from last week and up $70.75 from last year at this time.
There were 1,777 cull cows sold through auction markets this week, down 119 head from last week and 428 less than a year ago at this time. Cull cows sold from $101.60-$139.89 averaging $121.49, down $0.24 from last week and $22.48 higher than last year at this time. Auction markets reported steady prices and active trading right across the board. 4,828 replacement cattle sold through auction markets this week down 1,158 head from last week and 2,026 less than last year at this time. Year to date volumes sold as of May 21, 2015 total 91,372 head which is down 1,235 head from May 21, 2014 and 4,537 less than the same time in 2013. Auction markets reported this week's trade as active with prices steady to stronger. Actual average prices this week saw steers 400-500 lbs up $9.41 from last week on average, 500-600 lbs up $10.53, 600-700 lbs down $6.45, 700-800 lbs down $0.42, 800-900 lbs up $7.61,900-1000 lbs up $5.20 and steers over 1000 lbs up $1.63 from last week on average. Heifers 300-400 lbs averaged $21.02 lower than last week while heifers 400-500 lbs were up $0.06, 500-600 lbs up $10.67, 600-700 lbs up $0.38, 700-800 lbs up $10.06, heifers 800-900 lbs up $0.13 and heifers over 900 lbs averaged $2.55 stronger than last week.
The Quebec Electronic Market this week averaged $0.89 stronger with sales reported from $328.75-$330.75 dressed.
Alberta direct trade this week was light with Canfax reporting prices as steady to $2.00 lower. At time of reporting actual sale prices were not available.
The US cash cattle trade for the week ending May 14, 2015 was light to moderate late Friday afternoon with prices around $1.00 higher. The USDA Mandatory Price Report listed steers and heifers from $158.00-$164.00 live with steers averaging $161.93 up from $160.69 the previous week while heifers averaged $161.93 up from $161.18. On the rail prices ranged from $255.00-$257.00 dressed with steers averaging $256.03 up from $254.78 the previous week, while heifers averaged $255.09 up from $254.63. This week we saw trade develop as early as Wednesday as the U.S. tried to get business wrapped up before their holiday weekend. Trade was reported from $156.00-$163.00 live averaging $0.50 to $1.00 lower than last week's weighted average, while dressed deals ranged from $250.00-$257.00 down $1.00-$3.00 from last week's weighted average. Today a couple of sales have surfaced at $253.00 dressed in the north, but for the most part it appears that this week's business is completed.
