A Teeswater youth is a semi-finalist for the Canadian Cattlemen's Association Young Leaders mentorship program.
Brendan Zettler is one of three semi-finalists from Ontario. Bethany Storey from Guelph and Sara Parkinson from Hillsburgh are the other two.
The CYL program is a national youth initiative providing industry specific training and mentorship opportunities to young producers. There were nearly 70 applicants this year, of which 24 semi-finalists were chosen, including Teeswater's Brendan Zettler.
There are 14 semi-finalists from Alberta, four from Saskatchewan, two from Manitoba and one from Nova Scotia.
All 24 semi-finalists will be at the CYL Spring Forum in Saskatoon March 26 to 28.
That's where the final selection will be made.
CYL finalists will be paired with a mentor for a nine month mentorship in their area of interest. In the past those included nutrition and embryo work, marketing and trade to production and industry policy.
