November Ag Trade Surplus Down Slightly

Canadian exports of farm, fishing and intermediate food products were up 8 point 2 per cent from October to November.

Our imports of those products were down 3 point 5 per cent, month-to-month.

On an annual basis, Statistics Canada says our exports of farm, fishing and intermediate food products were up 1 point 8 per cent in November.

Our imports were up 11 point 6 per cent.

Statscan says we exported about 1 point 2 billion dollars more in those products in November than we imported.

That's a bigger surplus than we had in October, but slightly smaller than the 1 point 3 billion dollar surplus we had in November of 2013.

Canada's overall merchandise trade deficit in November was 644 million dollars.
