GFO Director Calls 2014 A 'Mostly Positive' Year

(With reporting by Simon Crouch)

It has been mostly a positive year for agriculture, although Southwestern Ontario grain and hog producer Mark Huston says it took a lot of work to get there.

Huston, who is a director with the Grain Farmers of Ontario says wet weather had an impact.

"A challenging planting season, a very cool summer and then another challenging harvest," he says. "But I think some of the yields have come back not to bad."

Huston says the livestock sector is one area doing very well, with higher meat prices and lower feed costs.
