The Garlic Box in Hensall has been awarded one of three Agri-Food Leaders in Innovation awards.
The award recognizes the Garlic Box's work in bringing back Ontario's commercial garlic production.
The Rheault Distillery of Hearst and Dresden's Truly Green Farms were also Leaders In Innovation Award winners.
The top provincial agri-food innovation award - the Premier's Award - went to Kaley's Acres of Castleton for converting former tombacco fields into a successful kale production operation.
The 2014 Minister's Award went to A. Driedger Farms of Wheatley for developing a self-propelled tomato harvesting machine.
The machine makes harvesting 19 per cent faster while preserving the quality of the fruit.
These were the top provincial Agri-Food Innovation awards this year, going along with 50 regional awards announced earlier across the province.
