With heavy rain in the forecast, the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority has issued a watershed conditions statement.
The conservation authority said a cold front is making its way through the region Tuesday, with the potential to produce over 30 millimetres of rain, with higher amounts in localized areas due to thunderstorms.
The statement said ground conditions are likely to be very reactive due to the heavy rains the region received in mid-July.
Due to the potential intensity of the storms, water levels are expected to rise rapidly and produce localized runoff.
Motorists are reminded that heavy downpours can result in water pooling on roads.
We're also told to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due to dangerous conditions, slippery banks and cold, swift moving water.
