A Hanover couple is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in Southampton.
Saugeen Shores police say one of their officers spotted a vehicle being driven erratically around 5:45 a.m. Friday on Railway St. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs of drug possession inside it.
Saugeen Shores police Sergeant Andy Evans said that the driver and female passenger were in possession of 28 g of suspected crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $3,200. A check of the vehicle's plates revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from a location in Hanover.
The 25-year-old male driver and the 24-year-old passenger were arrested and each charged with possession of controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, as well as two counts apiece of possession of property obtained by crime. The female is additionally charged with breach of probation.
The pair were held for a bail hearing in Walkerton. They have not been identified, and the charges have yet to be proven in court.
