Members of the newly-formed Clinton Skate Park Committee have asked Central Huron council for two things.
They want council's OK to use the concrete slab beside the swimming pool for their skate park, and they want financial support in purchasing new equipment for the park.
Committee chair Kara Freeman-Bechard explained in a presentation to council that the equipment they had was donated to them by Listowel, but was made of wood and has been deemed unsafe by Central Huron's Health and Safety Board.
They are hoping for some support from council to get new equipment, either modular designs or concrete, depending on how their fundraising goes.
Council agreed to give the committee an answer on the use of the park in two weeks. Freeman-Bechard says if they get that, they can at least get started on fund-raising.
