Deere and company is laying off workers at several of it's agricultural equipment plants.
The company says the layoffs reflect the economic forecast included in the company's November earnings report.
Just over 900 workers are being placed on indefinite layoff from Deere plants in Iowa and Illinois.
Another approximately 500 employees at Deere's Seeding and Cylinder facility in Moline are going on extended leave.
That leave is expected to end in late summer.
While that's going on, Deere is adding 220 new jobs at it's construction and forestry factories in Iowa.
