United Way crowns winner of first-ever Burger Battle

The beef has been squashed as the United Way Perth-Huron announced the winners of its inaugural Ultimate Burger Battle.

UWPH said after tallying the scores, Gilly’s Pubhouse in St. Marys came out on top with 130 votes, making their Lincoln Burger the people’s choice for Ultimate Burger of 2025.

"We would like to thank everyone who voted for us during the Ultimate Burger Battle," said Miguel Raposo, General Manager of Gilly’s. "We also want to thank our wonderful staff for helping us get out the vote for our Lincoln burger. It was a great team effort."

An award was also given the restaurant that sold the most burgers. That went to Bentley’s in Stratford, who sold 438 of their Gouda Cause Burger.

The first Ultimate Burger Battle campaign saw 10 eateries participate during the month of November. In total, 1,770 burgers were sold, which ultimately led to $4,290 being raised for UWPH.
