South Huron and Southampton are receiving provincial funding to support local programming.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson revealed in a press release on December 11 that the two communities are splitting $103,000 in funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) Seed grant stream.
South Huron will be getting an $89,800 grant over 12 months to recruit a Recreation Coordinator who will create inclusive programs, promote physical activity, and strengthen facility usage and community well-being.
Southampton Arts will receive a $13,200 grant over 12 months to deliver the Maker's Table, an affordable and engaging craft workshop series that will promote creativity, learning, and connection in a welcoming community space.
"The Ontario Trillium Foundation's Seed grants play an important role in helping community-led projects get off the ground, and I am pleased to see both the Municipality of South Huron and Southampton Arts benefit from this support," said MPP Thompson. "Their efforts will inspire engagement, foster creativity, and contribute to the wellbeing of people throughout our communities."
