There were more cattle on feed in the U-S January 1st than there were a year ago.
The USDA says the 10 point 7 million head represents a 1 per cent increase from January 1st of 2014.
Placements in U-S feedlots in December were 8 per cent below 2013 at 1 point 54 million head.
Marketings of fed cattle in December in the U-S totalled 1 point 66 million head.
That's 5 per cent below the December 2013 marketings.
