Senior drowns in Meaford harbour

An 81-year-old Meaford resident drowned on Saturday morning, according to Grey Bruce OPP.

According to police, emergency services responded to a report of a possible drowning in the Meaford harbour just after 11 a.m.

Emergency responders pulled an individual from the water who was unresponsive. The 81-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

OPP say the incident remains under investigation and there is no concern for public safety at this time.
